Salvage Bead Board Coat Rack

bead board coat rackOne good thing about locking yourself out of your car… at home, is you can’t go anywhere. And you get to play in the garage all day. 🙂

I have several projects going at the moment. All to put in my booth. The first one I completed today was a coat rack made from salvage bead board.

I picked up two slats of bead board at an antique store last week. $2.00 each. They were a pretty distressed blue. All I had to do was wipe them down and they were good to go.

I cut the boards in 6 inch pieces, then put them together, tongue and groove.

On the back side I attached a piece of leftover wood with glue and screws for support. Across the top of the coat rack at stained a piece of wood and attached it to the top. Gives it a finished look.

The hooks and knobs are a combination of new and old hardware.

It will be in my booth soon. 🙂
