DIY Jewelry Holder

Many months ago, I came across these wood doors for $2.00.  Had to have them!  Last Christmas I made a sign with the tall door.  Since then, the doors have been collecting dust in my “not sure what I’m gonna do with these now” pile.

In Florida, while shopping with my sister, I found a pad of scrapbook paper I had to have.  No, I don’t scrapbook, but it was calling to me. 😉

With the two thing I “had to have”, I made a jewelry holder for my daughter.  Take a look.  A very easy DIY project!

My $2.00 doors. Can’t ya just see the possibilities??

I cut the scrapbook paper to fit each section of the paneled door. The paper is adhered with Mod Podge.

Normally I would paint the door before adding the paper, but I was really just winging it here.

My highly complicated door lift! Ha! Campbell soup cans made it easy to paint around the edges of the door.

I used several coats of paint and lightly sanded between coats.

These knobs were once used on my daughter’s bathroom cabinets.  So basically “free” since I already had them.

These hooks came off of an old plague I bought while antiquing. (I save everything!) They received several coats of white spray paint.

The finished jewelry holder. This cost $2.00 + paper. Not too shabby!
